Evelyn Holland Bainbridge, 84, of Lakeview Village, Lenexa Kansas, went home to be with her Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday October 8, 2009. Evelyn passed away peacefully while with her husband and children after a severe stroke two days earlier.

Evelyn was a graduate of Northfield High School and received her BA in Art with honors from St. Olaf College of Northfield, Minnesota. Following college she was hired as stewardess with TWA in 1947 where she met her husband (the captain of her first flight) of 61 years, William (Bill) Bainbridge Jr. Bill and Evelyn spent 50 years at Lake Quivira, Kansas where they raised their 4 children.

Her life was centered on her family, sharing her faith in Jesus Christ, her artistic talent, and in her last 25+ years a successful business venture that continues to operate today. After raising the 4 children, Bills retirement from TWA, and 5 years living overseas in Pakistan and Uruguay with Bill in his second flying career, Evelyn started a home based business in AIM nutritional products. While with AIM, she achieved the Chairman's Club, the highest level possible with AIM.

She is survived by her husband, her four children, Bill Bainbridge III of Newton, Kansas; Marsha Bainbridge Carpenter M.D. of Dallas, Texas; Jean Bainbridge D.D.S. of Dallas, Texas; Mark Bainbridge of Blue Springs; Missouri and 10 grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Genevieve Roark of Ft. Worth, TX and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Campus Crusade for Christ in honor of Evelyn Bainbridge. or to the charity of your choice.

Visitation and Funeral Service

Evelyn's life will be celebrated on Saturday, October 17, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at Cross Points Church, 6824 Lackman Road, Shawnee, Kansas 66217. Visitation will be on Friday October 16, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee.
