Evelyn E. Phenicie

Evelyn E. Phenicie, 99, of Stilwell, Kansas, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2009. Evelyn was born October 22, 1909 to the late Norris and Effie Lowry in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Evelyn was a member of the Countryside Christian Church where she was a Circle Leader for over 50 years and was active in her Viewpoint Class at the church. Evelyn was very active with the Red Cross and the Mission community.

Evelyn is survived by her two daughters, Jackie M. Fortney, Paola, Kansas; and Sharon K. Phenicie, Stilwell, Kansas. One sister, Ethel McHardy, Independence, Missouri; three grandchildren, Debbie Fortney & husband Warren Gould, Paola, Kansas; Tammy Johnson and husband Michael, also of Paola, Kansas; and Cindy Fortney, Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri. Three great grandchildren, Cody and Lacy Johnson, Shawn Gould all of Paola, Kansas, and a great great grandson, Joshua Greenleaf also survive her.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made in lieu of flowers to the Countryside Christian Church.

Visitation and Memorial Service

Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2009 at Countryside Christian Church. A visitation will immediately follow services at the church.
