Evelyn “Cookie” Rothenberger

Evelyn Mary "Cookie" Rothenberger, 77, Overland Park, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at the Indian Creek Health Care Center, Overland Park, Kansas.

Evelyn was born August 15, 1935, in Baileyville, Kansas, to Clement and Clementine Koch. She received her RN degree from St. Joseph Hospital in 1956. She was employed with KU Medical Center and later ConAgra, retiring in 1993. After retirement, Evelyn was a case manager at Genex Services until 2002.

Evelyn was a member of the "99's" and American Business Women's Association.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and four sisters. Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Caryl Rothenberger, sister, Rita Haug, Seneca, Kansas; two brothers, Mark Koch, Marysville, Kansas and Joseph Koch, Baileyville, Kansas; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, November 15, 2012, at the Amos Family Funeral Home and Crematory, where a Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am, Friday, November 16, 2012, at the Church of the Holy Cross, 8311 W. 93rd Street, Overland Park, Kansas; burial in Leavenworth National Cemetery.
