F.G. "Ted" Huggins, 100 years young from Shawnee, KS passed away January 7th, 2019 at Villa St. Francis in Olathe, KS. Born October 9th, 1918 in LaCygne, KS to Floyd and Daisy (Shetterly) Huggins. Ballroom dancing with his wife, Marian, bowling, and his grandchildren were his passions. He continued to enjoy watching his grandchildren bowl every Christmas Eve for many years until this last year. He was a member of the Wy-Jon Men's Bowling Association for 50 years where he was secretary for many years before he retired at the age of 90. He was inducted into the Wy-Jon Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 1980. He was elected to the Kansas State Men's Bowling Association Board in 1970 and was inducted into their Hall of Fame in 1983. Ted worked for A.E. West Petroleum and Larry Meyer Oil Company before retiring in 1979.
He was proceeded in death by his wife of 59 years Marian (Houlehan) Huggins, daughter Linda (Huggins) Orser, his parents, and brothers Robert "Bud", Floyd, and Larry. He is survived by his daughter Gayle and son and daughter-in-law John and Carolyn Orser. Grandchildren Tami (Tom) Carter, Kim (Brad) Mason, and Jeff Mason. Great-grandchildren Tiffany (Steven) Meyer, Taylor Carter, Greg (Lexi) Mason, Lindsay Mason (Miles Summers), and Kara Mason. Great-great-grandchildren Kayleigh and Carter Meyer. Sisters Vivian Jurgens, Peggy Young and Shirley (Sandy) Sanders. Sisters in-laws Joan Huggins and Sharon Huggins and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 5 - 7 p.m., Sunday at the Amos Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Monday at the funeral home with burial in Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care, 1500 Meadow Lake Pkwy., Kansas City, Mo 64114.
