Frances “Joanne” (Almsberger) Morris, 78, passed away at her home in the early morning on May 6th, 2021. A private family service will be held at Resurrection Cemetery where she’ll be laid to rest with her late husband, Rick Morris.
Joanne was born in Kansas City, Missouri and grew up in Fairway, Kansas. She attended Bishop Miege High School—graduating two years early. Joanne worked in the automotive industry and was a warranty manager for the majority of her life. She met Rick at the dealership where she worked, and they were married shortly thereafter.
Joanne was a talented crafter-- loving knitting, sewing and embroidery. She loved to travel, especially destinations with beaches; collecting sand, shells and many souvenirs. Her true passion was in the fostering and rescuing of animals—mainly cats. She was a loving mother to her three children and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She is very loved and will be dearly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Marie Almsberger; her husband of 29 years Rick who passed in 2002; a granddaughter Ashley Robbins; and a sister-in-law Robin Almsberger. She is survived by her three children Bruce (Janet) Robbins, Melissa Robbins-Suarez, and Chris Robbins; grandchildren Nicole (Adam Davis), Emily, Hayden, Brendan, and Matthew Robbins; a brother Dennis Almsberger and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Wayside Waifs, an animal charity located at 3901 Martha Truman Rd, Kansas City, MO 64137.
