Frank “Butch” Marciniak

June 21, 1928 — August 20, 2017

Frank "Butch" Marciniak passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017 at Brookdale Glenwood Assisted Living. Frank was born in Kansas City, Kansas to Helen E. and Michael Marciniak on June 21, 1928. He attended Sts. Cyril & Methodius grade school and Bishop Word High School in Kansas City, Kansas. He served in the Army in Korea as a military policeman. After service he worked as a truck driver for Crooks Terminal Warehouse.

He enjoyed travel, oldies music, growing tomatoes, feeding his pet squirrels, and coin and stamp collecting. His family included sister, Dorothy (deceased), Ted (deceased), Joe of Shawnee, Kansas and Marilyn (Bohnert) Johnson and her husband Roger of Olathe, Kansas, and nieces and nephews.

His friends at Brookdale knew him as "Frank-in-stein" and his engaging personality made residents and staff laugh at his antics. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed his outgoing personality.

The family wishes to express a sincere thank you to all the caregivers at Brookdale and Hospice for the heartfelt and excellent care they provided Frank.

Visitation will 9 - 10 a.m., Saturday followed immediately be the Mass of Christian Burial at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Burial is at the Leavenworth National Cemetery.
