Frank Dale Wilkinson, Sr., 91, of Olathe, KS passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Anthology of Olathe.

Frank was born August 17, 1929 to the late Frank and Mildred Wilkinson in Kansas City, Kansas.  He graduated from Shawnee Mission Rural High School and was drafted into the Army Infantry during the Korean War.  A week after returning from his military service, Frank married Betty Hayes on March 28, 1953.  He then went to work as a machinist for Colgate Palmolive and was fortunate enough to retire in 1984 at the age of 55. Frank was a member of the machinists union and Shawnee Presbyterian Church.  He served as a member of the Shawnee Volunteer Fire Department and was Chief for several years.

Frank is preceded in death by his wife of 68 years Betty S. Wilkinson and his son, Frank Dale Wilkinson, Jr.   He is survived by his children, Claude (Hope) Wilkinson; John (Donna) Wilkinson; Laura (Vernie) Newton; 10 grandchildren, Claude Henry Wilkinson, Jr. and wife Heather; Candice Reed and husband Michael; John Jacob Wilkinson and wife Allison; Justin Wilkinson and wife Anna; Jason Wilkinson and wife Shaunacee; Bobby Wilkinson; Billy Edwards; Dannell Newton and close friend Steve Vines; Zach Newton and wife Heather; Mariah Spencer and husband Harry; 13 great grandchildren, Colton, Lily, Halle, Maci, Avery, Dallas, Wyatt, Sadie, Addie, Darianna, Indie, Abigail and Tyler.

Visitation and Services

Visitation will be 9 to 10 a.m. Monday, December 14, 2020 at the Amos Family Funeral Home.  Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.  Frank will be laid to rest at Johnson County Memorial Gardens.   For those unable to attend, the services will be livestreamed.  Please click here to watch Frank’s livestreamed service.
