Frederick J. Davids, 86, of Shawnee, walked on Friday, June 13, 2014, at the Sweet Life at Rosehill.
Fred was born July 30, 1927, to the late Julius and Priscilla (Coulon) Davids, into the Stockbridge-Munsee Band of Mohicans, in Oneida, Wisconsin. He enlisted in the United States Army at the age of 18. His career spanned almost thirty years and three major conflicts. Fred joined the Army in September of 1945 and served during World War II, Korean War and the Vietnam Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion, and was a born again Christian.
Fred is preceded in death by a daughter Rhonda Sechser; three brothers, Harvey, Harold and Julius, Jr.; and two sisters, Arlene Pitts and Dorothy Diehl. He is survived by his two daughters, Alice Wood and Crystal Herriage; two sisters, Erma Flor and Viola Haddock ; 6 grandchildren, Sharice Davids, Megan (Jeremy) Breuklander, Matthew Herriage, Josh Herriage, Richard Sechser and Craig Sechser; three great-grandchildren, Allexis, Anjelina and Ashtin Breuklander.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at the Sweet Life at Rosehill for the outstanding attention and care given to him in his final days.
