Freida M. (Plummer) Renner

Freida M. Renner, 95, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away on July 10th, 2022. Freida is survived by her daughter Denise Carol Dahms (Steve); brother Clancy Plummer; grandchildren Dustin Dodson, Brad (Julie) Dodson, Tammy (Cory) Williams, Carmen Becker, Willy Dahms, Steven Zeth Dahms; and many great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Freida is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Elmer “Gene” Renner; children Dennis Renner and Dee Layne Bowman; grandchild Staci Howard; sister Margaret Johnston, brother Russell Plummer and her parents Babe and Gladys Plummer.

Freida was born on June 7th, 1927 in De Soto, Kansas. She married Gene Renner on March 5th, 1948 and they had three children together. Freida enjoyed golfing, spending time in her garden, a good glass of wine, getting out to socialize with her friends, and cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs! She enjoyed getting together with her family for holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving. She loved being in the kitchen, and was known for her amazing fried chicken and her pies that she baked. Freida was sweet and forgiving, but also brutally honest, always telling it how it was. She enjoyed spending time at her and Gene’s lake house at the Lake of the Ozarks. Being with her grandchildren was one of her favorite places to be, she was a wonderful grandma.

A visitation will be held on Monday, July 18th, 2022 from 9 to 10 am, with her service beginning at 10 am at the Amos Family Funeral Home in Shawnee, Kansas. She will be laid to rest next to Gene at Monticello Union Cemetery in Shawnee.

Memorial contributions in Freida's honor may be made to Indian Heights United Methodist Church.
