Gail N. “Penny” Ackles

Gail N. "Penny" Ackles, 69, Olathe Kansas, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, November 28, 2009 at the Olathe Medical Center.

Gail was born December 20, 1939 in Youngstown, Ohio to Charles G. and Elinor (Powers) Nichols. On June 23, 1962, Gail married Paul D. Ackles in Youngstown, Ohio.

Gail earned a BA degree at DePauw University, Greencastle, Indiana, where she was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority. She was a member of Colonial Presbyterian Church and member, elder and Stephen Minister of First Presbyterian Church, Evanston, Illinois. Gail was also a member of the Junior League in Evanston.

Gail was preceded in death by her father and mother, brother, David M. Nichols and granddaughter, Anna Grace Ackles. Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Paul D. Ackles; two daughters, Kimberley A. (Don) Hymer, Overland Park, Kansas and Jennifer E. Ackles, Redding, California; son, Kevin A. (Kim) Ackles, Kenosha, Wisconsin; six grandchildren, Megan Hymer, Eric Hymer, Abigail Ackles, Amelia Ackles, David Ackles and Ainsley Ackles.

Memorial Service

Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 19, 2009, at Colonial Presbyterian Church, 12501 W. 137th Street, Overland Park, Kansas.
