Galen S. O'Keefe, Bud as he was known to all that loved him, passed away January 20, 2010 at his home in Shawnee, Kansas.
Bud was born June 26, 1936 in Blaine, Kansas to Urban and Cecelia O'Keeffe (deceased). Upon graduation from Wheaton High School, he joined the Navy in 1955, serving until 1960. In 1961 he married Janice Sanderson and eventually they made their home in Kansas City, Missouri. Bud joined the Army National Guard in 1975, then transferring to the Air Force Reserves where he retired in 1996, serving all together 26 years. In 1998 he retired from Wal-Ties and Forms, Bonner Springs, Kansas spending the next 10 years traveling the United States with his wife Jan in their motor home. Always ready for a party or a project.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years; his daughter Karen O'Keefe-Lingenfelter and husband Garrett; daughters, Kathi O'Keefe and Kerry O'Keefe-Owens and husband Dean; 3 grandchildren that he adored, Lilly Lingenfelter, Nicholas and Lauren Owens; 2 brothers and 4 sisters, along with many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Phronzie, Teresa, Brother Darrell and the staff at Catholic Community Hospice.

Visitation and Funeral Service
Funeral Mass has been scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 25, 2010, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawnee, Kansas, with a visitation prior from 8:00 - 9:30 a.m.; Rosary at 9:30 a.m.; burial following 3 p.m, at St. Michael's Cemetery in Wheaton, Kansas.
