Gary A. “Little Pete” Barnes Jr.

Gary "Little Pete" Barnes Jr., 49 of Baldwin City, Kansas, passed away December 14, 2009 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Gary was born May 7, 1960 in Kansas City, Kansas to Gary and Linda Bond Barnes, Sr. Little Pete graduated from Turner High School in Kansas City, Kansas in 1979. He worked for 25 years as a roofer.

He is survived by his daughter Lisa Yoder, her husband LNCPL Timothy Yoder and her three children; Haylee, Kayden, and Caleb all of Jacksonville, North Carolina; his parents; sister Gayla Webb of Chattanooga, Tennessee; brother Daniel Barnes of Wheatland, Missouri; his caretakers DJ Davis and Diana McCoy, of Baldwin City; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital, 1900 Richmond Road, Lexington, Kentucky 40502 or Lawrence Humane Society, 1805 E. 19th Street, Lawrence, Kansas 66046.

Visitation and Funeral Service

A visitation will be held Wednesday, December 16, 2009, from 6 to 8 pm at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. A funeral service will be held 12:30 pm Thursday, December 17, 2009 also at the funeral home, followed by burial in Old Monticello Cemetery, Shawnee, Kansas.
