Gary Lee Gilmore

Gary Lee Gilmore, 55, Olathe, Kansas, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2009 at his home.

Gary Lee was born September 9, 1953 in Axtell, Kansas to Curtis and Naomi (Branaum) Gilmore. He was a graduate of Nemaha Valley High School in Seneca, Kansas. Gary earned his BA degree in communication at Fort Hays State University and was working on his master’s degree. Gary enjoyed working in college and community theatre. He was an optician and currently managed a Vision Center for Walmart. On September 4, 1982, Gary married Anita Gordon in Hays, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his son, Curtis M.G. Gilmore, February 10, 2007, also preceded in death by his parents and infant brother. Survivors include his wife, Anita Gordon-Gilmore; son, Ren Gilmore and his wife, Jennifer; grandson, Curtis Riker Gilmore, Hays, Kansas; sister, Linda Lanning and her husband, Bruce, Topeka, Kansas; several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to either the American Cancer Society or Saint Andrew Christian Church, 13890 W. 127th Street, Olathe, Kansas 66062.

Memorial service will be 7:00 p.m. Sunday, June 14, 2009 at the Saint Andrew Christian Church.
