Genevieve "Jean" Josephine (Hansel) Hale

We are sad to announce the passing of Genevieve (Jean) Hale, born in Kansas City, KS on March 26, 1932.

Jean passed away Sunday, June 18, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones after a battle with chronic kidney disease.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Helen Hansel; sister, Frances; two brothers, Bernie and Lenny; husband, Lester Hale; son, Curtis Hale; two granddaughters, Annie and Miranda; and son-in-law, Dave Austin.

Jean is survived by her children; Tim Hale, Concrete, WA, Sue (Terry) Horton, Hollister, MO, Connie (Brad) Byard, Overland Park, KS, Barb Austin, Overland Park, KS, Leslie (Mark) Smith, Overland Park, KS. Jean was loved by many. She also leaves behind 14 grandchilren, 13 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Visitation will be 9:30-10:30 am followed by Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 am, Monday, June 26 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will be 10:00 am, Tuesday, June 27 at the Leavenworth National Cemetery.
