George E. Mcauliffe

George E. McAuliffe, 94, of Merriam, Kansas, passed away October 26, 2012.

He was born December 12, 1917, in St. Joseph, Missouri, to William and Grace McAuliffe. He was the youngest of four children. George served in the US Army during WWII. He was united in marriage to Viola Mae Henson on September 19, 1942. George worked as Chief of Facilities Management with the IRS for 30 years before retiring in 1977.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years Viola McAuliffe and by his siblings. George is survived by his daughter Susan Newman and husband Ron; and grandchildren, Matthew and Meghan Newman.

George will be deeply missed by his loving family and many friends on Mackey Street.

A visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 1, 2012, at the Amos Family Funeral Home and Crematory. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, Kansas.
