George E. Parkhurst

March 13, 1930 — May 1, 2010

George E. Parkhurst, 80, Lake Winnebago, Missouri, went up to be with God on May 1, 2010, at noon after a long courageous battle with cancer. He died peacefully and with loved ones around him at Kansas City Hospice House.

He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed photographing flowers and little critters. He also enjoyed arguing politics. He was a pilot, builder, an inventor and was an encyclopedia of knowledge.

He is preceded in death by his parents Wayne and Maxine Parkhurst, his two brothers, Warren and Robert, and wife of 16 years Michelle. He is leaving behind his wife of 27 years Jean; two daughters, Carol Ditto, Jennifer Nelson and her husband Adam; one granddaughter, one grandson and two great-grandsons. He is also survived by many loved ones who he touched with his kindness and helpfulness.

The family suggests donations in George's memory be made to the Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64145 or the charity of your choice.
