George William Smiley

George William Smiley, 80, Overland Park, KS passed away Friday, July 14, 2017 at his home.

George was born Jan. 14, 1937 in Shawnee, KS to George L. and Anna E. Smiley. On Jan. 18, 1979, George married Ann at Overland Park Christian Church. He was a master electrician with IBEW Local 124. George and Ann were active members of Unity Temple on the Plaza.

George was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Ann Smiley, sister, Eileen Mathes, daughter Rosemary Hale and son, Rick Paddock.  Survivors include his two sons, George S. Smiley and Brian Smiley; four daughters, Teryn Johnson, Colleen Garry, Patty (Marc) Litle, and Ginger (Paul) Stegman; daughter-in-law, Linda Paddock; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life begins with a visitation at 12:00 p.m., followed by a service at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 22 at the Amos Family Funeral Home; burial in Pleasant View Cemetery.
