Jerry (Guest) Thomas passed away July 22, 2016 at Covenant Place in Lenexa, her home the past 15 month after living in Shawnee, Ks for 54 years. Jerry was born December 8, 1922 in Coffeyville, Kansas to James P. Guest and Emma E. (Stamper) Guest, the second of their four children. A sister Juanita Guest Evans, Blue Springs, Mo.; two brothers, James Guest, Coffeyville; and Kenneth L. Guest, all preceded her in death. Her sister-in-law, Irene Guest, of Coffeyville, Kansas survives. Jerry married Robert A. Thomas (1919-1997) on January 17, 1948 in Kansas City, Kansas and they had two sons, Robert (Bob) Thomas, Jr. (Leigh Anne), Lake Quivira, Ks. and Dean Thomas (Gloria) Excelsior Springs, Mo. and granddaughter Keeli Thomas, Shawnee, Ks. She is also survived by step-grandchildren Michael Whittington, Cyndy Swaykus, Beth Blanchard and Kelli Claus (children of Gloria) and Myles Howell and Madison Howell (children of Leigh Anne), great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob and Jerry had been married for 48 years before he passed away in 1997. Jerry graduated from Field Kindley High School in Coffeyville in 1939. She retired from Union Pacific Railroad in 1984. She then accumulated nearly 9,000 hours of volunteer service at Shawnee-Mission Medical Center, over the next 24 years.
