Gervis Joseph Beiriger

Gervis Joseph Beiriger, 74, Lenexa, Kansas passed away peacefully Friday, December 26, surrounded by his family.

Mr. Beiriger was born September 16, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois to Joseph C. and Elzer (Schenk) Beiriger. Gervis lived for his wife, children, grandchildren, family and friends. He enjoyed his backyard and fly fishing. A man of great character, his support, guidance, humor and spirit enriched many lives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandchildren, Caton and Angel Beiriger. Gervis is survived by his wife, Mary (Schroeder) Beiriger; and their four children, Vicki (Michael) Richmond, Kansas City, Missouri, Judy (Bruce Margolin) Beiriger, Overland Park, Kansas, David (Molly) Beiriger, Overland Park, Kansas and Cristy (Kelly) Sullivan, Lawrence, Kansas; five grandchildren, Noah and Campbell Richmond, Kennedy Sullivan, Caspar and Chloe Beiriger; sister, Odette Salley, Mandeville, Louisiana; and brother, Joel Beiriger, St. Amant, Louisiana.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Heart of America Fly Fishers Environmental Education Fund, PO Box 731, Mission, KS 66201.

Visitation and Funeral Services

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 31 at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church; burial in the Resurrection Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:30-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 30 at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee.
