Gilbert Gallardo, 82, of Shawnee, Kansas passed away in his home on February 11, 2023.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Friday, March 3rd, 2023 at the Amos Family Funeral Home. Gilbert’s family will have a private graveside service at Leavenworth National Cemetery where he will be laid to rest.

Gilbert was born in Los Angeles, California on January 15th, 1941 to Daniel and Mary Gallardo.

Gilbert proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. He was the father of 4 children, Patrick, Mary, Teresa, and Eve. Gilbert relocated to Kansas in early 2000 to be closer to his children and grandchildren. He loved being a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His greatest joy was being with his family.

Gilbert’s most treasured accomplishments were being a proud veteran and a VA volunteer. He participated in the National Veterans Golden Age Games; thus, giving him the opportunity to travel, with other vets, to Hawaii, New York, and St. Louis.

Gilbert was vibrant and active up to the end. He believed that there was no greater power in the universe than the power of love. And he spent the last half of his life living it.

Gilbert is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Danny and Bobby, and his son, Patrick.

He is survived by his 3 daughters; his sister Lupe; Grandchildren Rocky, Adrianna, Lesa, and Billy: great Grandchildren Don’Rodrigo, Anthony, Benaiah, Adriyon, and Carpenter. A niece and nephew as well as many other family members in the Los Angeles area
