Glen Chester Magnuson, 76, of Shawnee, Kansas passed away on December 9, 2016. Glen was born January 31, 1940 in a Model "A" Ford near Galesburg, Illinois to Chester and Erica Magnuson of Woodhull, Illinois. Glen graduated from Woodhull High School, Western Illinois University (Summa Cum Laude) in Biology and Chemistry. He moved on to the Masters PHD program at the University of Minnesota ending with a Genetic and Chemistry Degree. Glen worked for Cargill, Inc. ending a 25 year career as Vice President of the Fertilizer Division. After Cargill, Glen moved to Shawnee, Kansas in 1991 and started work at Unifert Group. After 8 years, he formed his own Agribusiness Consulting Firm - Magnuson LLC. He worked primary for the KOCH Industries. In 1999 he joined the Board of Directors for MCK Mining. Glen is survived by his wife, Trudy of 51 years, son, Karl and ex-wife, Elena Kraineva and son Alexei Krainev, daughter, Jennifer brother, Dewayne (Peggy) Magnuson, niece, Rhonda, and one grandson, Gunnar Cook. Glen was preceded in death by his parents, and niece Tara.
There are no services scheduled, cremation has been chosen.
