Graydon J. Kincaid passed away on July 9, 2013 from natural causes. Graydon was born on October 16, 1923, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Nellie Mae and Henry G. Kincaid and grew up on a farm in Salisbury, Missouri. While in high school, Graydon excelled in sports, especially track. Upon graduating from high school Graydon enlisted in the navy serving in World War II aboard USS Bosque. He served in many capacities including as captain's mate, a position of honor and prestige. At the conclusion of the war, Graydon continued in government service working for the post office and later for social security. Also, he met and soon married the love of his life Mary Frances Schulze. Graydon was a hard worker and labored at 2 jobs during the early years of the marriage helping to instill the value of hard work in his family.
Graydon was able to retire at the young age of 55 and spent the following years traveling with his beloved wife and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Among his hobbies were going to countless grandchildren functions such as school events, soccer, hockey, baseball and softball games. He bought a ski boat and frequently rented cabins at the lake for the grandchildren to spend summer time skiing and enjoying the water. Throughout his life he also enjoyed golf, bowling, cards, especially bridge, and excelled at each as well as hunting. Graydon is a long standing member of Merriam Christian Church and was selected as elder emeritus.
Graydon is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 65 years Mary, his children Graydon (Don) and wife Patty, Mike and wife Cindy and Jeff and wife Pam. He is blessed with 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. His eyes sparkled when talking about his cherished and adored family. He was an inspiration to those he touched. His courage and commitment to family will always be remembered.

Visitation at Merriam Christian Church begins at 11:30 a.m., Friday, July 12, 2013, Memorial Services at 1:00 p.m., Interment following at Floral Hills Cemetery.
