Gregory Hinex

Gregory Michael Hinex, 40, left us on November 2, 2014, with his family by his side in Kansas City, Missouri.

Greg was born in Midwest City, Oklahoma, on August 19, 1974. Greg attended grade school and high school in Midwest City. He left Midwest City in 1992, to attend Bethel College, where he received his Bachelor in Music. After receiving his education at Bethel, Greg left Newton Kansas, and moved to Kansas City, Kansas, and attended the University of Missouri, Kansas City and received his Masters in Performance.

Greg accepted a position at Kaw Valley Center (KAW) and worked as a Family Support Worker for a few years. He was then called to become a Senior Case Manager for 10 years at Big Brothers & Big Sisters.

In 2013, Greg received his teaching certificate and accepted a position as a music teacher at two North Kansas School Districts. Greg loved teaching the children, and had joy each day he taught.

Greg started having medical problems in October 2013, and his condition became worse as the days passed.

Greg is survived by his mother, sister, and brother and a host of family members and friends.

One of Greg's favorite phrases was "Without Music, Life would be a mistake." Friedrich Nietzsche

The family of Greg wishes to thank all the doctors, around-the-clock nurses, friends and family for their continued prayers.

Memorial Service

Memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m., Friday, November 7, 2014, at the Amos Family Funeral Home.
