Harold A. Estelle, 89, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away May 7, 2013.

He was born April 20, 1924, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Thelma (Dyer) Estelle. He attended Attucks School in Kansas City, Missouri, and Walker School in Merriam, Kansas. Harold served in the US Army during WWII with the 10th Calvary. He was one of the last Buffalo Soldiers.

Harold was united in marriage to his wife Eula Mae Jones in 1946. He worked for the Katy Railroad, the Kansas City Stock yards, Norris Grain, and retired from the Shawnee Mission School District in 1988. Harold enjoyed fishing, driving, gardening, sweepstakes, and visiting family and friends. He was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge #101 and Philadelphia Baptist Church located in historic South Park in Merriam, Kansas.

Harold was preceded in death by his wife Eula Mae Estelle; daughter, Marsha Estelle; siblings, Luther, Calvin, Alvin, Helen, Ernest, Norma, Herbert, and Vivian.

He is survived by his children, H. Eugene Estelle, Jessica A. Estelle, Phillip A. Estelle, Claudia D. Brown, Evelyn K. Auten, and Keith R. Estelle, also by his much loved 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. He also leaves one sister Willene Jones.

A visitation will from 10:00-11:30 a.m., Monday, May 13, 2013, at Shiloh Community Church. The funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m. also at Shiloh Community Church. Burial in Leavenworth National Cemetery.
