Harold Jerome Gouvion

Harold Jerome Gouvion, 79, Lenexa, Kansas, passed away November 30, 2011, at his house.

Harold was born in South Mound, Kansas, and grew up in southeast Kansas. He was a 1950 graduate of St. Francis High School in St. Paul, Kansas. He had many occupations throughout his life, farming, machinist at Boeing, car mechanic, driver/dockman and retired with Teamster's Local 41. In retirement, Harold worked caring for animals. He enjoyed talking about his family and growing up in rural Kansas. Harold especially love hunting and fishing with his wife, sons, and grandsons.

Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Florence. Survivors include his sons, Steven Gouvion and wife, Linda, and Jeff Gouvion all of Overland Park, Kansas; daughters Lori Cohen and husband, Scott, Las Vegas, Nevada and Teresa Johnson, Overland Park, Kansas; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren and many other family and friends.

Harold will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be from 5-7 pm, Sunday, December 4, 2011, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Funeral service will be 10:00 am, Monday, December 5, 2011, at Holy Name Catholic Church, Kansas City, Kansas. Cremation will follow the services.

Memorial contributions may be made to either Disabled American Veterans or Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
