Harold Meserole died January 6 at the age of 86 in Leesburg, Florida. He was a resident of Mission, Kansas for 45 years.

He was the eldest child of Embree and Genevie Meserole. He outlived his brothers Charles, Edward and Bobby and his baby sister Kathleen. He is survived by his wife Marilyn Meserole whom in married in 1996 and his sisters Claribelle Shaw, Joyce Moore, Jean Tait, and Hazel Lamont. He is the caring father of Thomas Meserole (Mission, Kansas) and Robin Joseph (Lawrence, Kansas) via his first wife Lucile K. Meserole who died in 1991. He is the grandfather of Robert Embree Meserole and Nickolas Dalton Joseph and the great grandfather of several children.

He was a sergeant in the United States Marine Corp. serving in the South Pacific during World War II. Harold worked for over 35 years in the telephone industry in a variety of positions from installation to engineering to field engineer. He retired in 1982 from GTE Automatic Electric. He loved to fish, camp and hunt and spent weeks each year doing so. His job and his camping adventures took him to all 50 states.

Visitation and Funeral Services

Visitation will be held from 5:30 to 7 pm Sunday, January 11, 2008, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee, 10901 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, Kansas. Services will be held Monday at 11 am at the same location, followed by internment at the Shawnee Cemetery at 6300 Quivira.
