Harold F. Ross

Harold Francis Ross, 92, of Kansas City, KS, passed away, Friday, August 28, 2015.

Mr. Ross was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Dorthea B. Ross in August of 2008.

Born in Stephenson, MI, the couple was married in Chicago and moved to Kansas City, KS in 1951. Mr. Ross was an Army Veteran of WWII who fought with General Patton at the Battle of the Bulge and his unit helped liberate Dachau Concentration Camp in Germany. After the war, he taught American History and Government at Gardner High School for 25 years. He was awarded Teacher of the Year by his students. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his children, Don C. Ross and wife, Joellen, Mary Paulsen, and husband, Dale, John M. Ross, and wife, Karen, Nancy Craigg, and husband, Ron, David P. Ross, and wife, Rhonda, and Robin Thoele; 20 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at the Amos Family Funeral Home with burial in the Leavenworth National Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 - 8 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
