Harry E. Deringer, 87, Shawnee, KS passed away Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014 at the Medicalodge, Frontenac, KS. Harry was born April 25, 1927 in Kansas City, KS to Dan and Bell Deringer. He was a veteran of the US Navy during the WWII. Following his honorable discharge from the Navy, Harry started working at Colgate-Palmolive Co. in Kansas City KS, retiring in 1984 after 37 years of service. After retiring, Harry had many odd jobs.
In 1950 Harry married Pauline Joy Peek in Kansas City, KS. Harry was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline, on June 26, 1977, son, Ronnie Deringer, daughter-in-law, Ann Deringer, both in 2013, his parents and eleven brothers and sisters.
In June 1988, Harry married, Nancy A. Sons in Shawnee, KS. He leaves behind his wife, Nancy, Shawnee, KS; two sons, Mark Deringer, Arma, KS and Kerry (Sherri) Deringer, Leavenworth, KS; daughter, Vicki (Don) Mackey, Clinton, MO; daughter-in-law, Jan Deringer, Gardner, KS; four step-daughters, Cindy (John) Risner, Houston, TX, Regina (Robert) King, Bonner Springs, KS, Sheila (Gary) Boerger, Merriam, KS, and Kim (Perry) Schrag, Dallas, TX; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; thirteen step-grandchildren; ten step great grandchildren and one step great great grandson.
Funeral services will be10:00 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13 at the Amos Family Funeral Home; burial in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Shawnee, KS. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Alzheimer's Assoc.
