Helen Mall

Helen A. Mall, 93, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 19, 2013.

She was born in Shawnee, Kansas, on March 22, 1920. She attended St Joseph grade and high school. She was a member of St. Joseph parish, Shawnee or Queen of the Holy Rosary parish all her life.

She married Robert Mall on August 2, 1941, and they enjoyed 61 years together. They especially enjoyed traveling together and made many trips both in the US and abroad. Helen worked for many years in the clothing department at Kline’s and The Palace. She was one of the early Kline’s Christmas Fairy Princesses. Helen also loved cooking and was an avid gardener. She had a green thumb was extremely proud of her many plants and flowers. She liked playing the slots with some of her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her three children, Barbara McDonald (Ken), Tom and Jim (Rita) Mall; one sister, Marie Lafferty; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and one great, great granddaughter.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at Amos Family Funeral Home, Shawnee, Kansas. h Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 24, 2013, at Queen of the Holy Rosary Church in Overland Park, Kansas. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
