Henry A. Hagedorn, Sr.

Henry A. Hagedorn, Sr., 87, Shawnee, Kansas, passed away Thursday, October 21, 2010, at Olathe Medical Center.

Henry is a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a life member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion and was a veteran of WW II. Henry was employed with Safeway stores as a store manager for 45 years.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents Alvin H. and Minnie (Flaspohler) Hagedorn. Survivors include his wife Elizabeth Hagedorn of Olathe, Kansas; four children, Henry A. (Alice) Hagedorn, Jr. of Lincoln, Nebraska, Janice M. (Joe) Hoytal of Topeka, Kansas, Lawrence E. (Cindy) Hagedorn of Andover, Kansas, and Doris (Michael) Schroeger of Shawnee, Kansas; five sisters Marlene VanNieuwenhuyse, Virginia Klenk, Ruth Setter, Lucille Cox, and Judy Miller; 13 grandchildren, Chris (Tonja) Hagedorn, Joey (Shelby) Hoytal, Tim (Erin) Hagedorn, Jennifer (Casey) Wells, Beth (Lee) Masters, Johnny (Brooke) Hoytal, Ben (Jessica) Hagedorn, Mike (Tanya) Schroeger, Julie (Grant) Gould, Amy Schroeger, Justin Hagedorn, Sarah Schroeger, and Meghan Hagedorn; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Visitation and Funeral Service

Visitation will be 4-6 pm, Sunday, October 24, 2010, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee where the Rosary will be prayed at 4 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am, Monday, October 25, 2010, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial to follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
