Henry L. Klein, age 80, passed away on November 29, 2021. Henry was born on August 7, 1941, in Kansas City, Kansas to Leonard and Lillian Klein. He grew up in Turner, Kansas, and enjoyed going to the farmers market with his grandparents. His grandparents lived next door to his family, and Henry was very close to his Grandpa Creten. In the late 1950’s, Henry’s parents opened up a Tasty Queen that he worked for during his teenage years. Henry attended St. Joseph High School.
After finishing high school, he married Martha Vaughan, and together they owned and operated the Apco Station—a full-service gas station. He and Martha created a beautiful family, having 3 daughters; Kerry, Kelly and Dana. He was a dedicated and loving father, always working hard to provide for his family. Later on in life, Henry became a heavy equipment operator for the Deffenbaugh Rock Quarry in Shawnee, Kansas. He was a supervisor within the company for many years.
During his free time, Henry loved building and creating things out of wood. He was a talented woodworker, creating furniture, toys, and many appliances. He also enjoyed spending time riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle, riding in support of many charity events such as Bikers for Babies held by the March of Dimes.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
