Herbert Gene Lawson

Herbert Gene Lawson, 91, Hermitage, MO (formerly of Mission, KS) passed away Sunday, August 21, 2022 at Hermitage Nursing and Rehab, Hermitage, MO. Visitation will be 10-11:00 am followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am, Friday, August 26 at the Amos Family Funeral Home; burial will be 11:00 am Tuesday, August 30 at Rock Prairie Cemetery, Halfway, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas Christian College, 7401 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66204.

Herbert was born January 31, 1931 in Polk County, MO to Willis and Ola Lawson. On Dec. 8, 1948 Herbert married Virginia Jones. He was a pastor for over 60 years with many years of ministry in the intercity of Kansas City, MO.

Herbert was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Virginia, in 2020    . Survivors include his two daughters, Judy Carey, Gastonia, NC and Brenda (Dwight) Menefee, Hermitage, MO; son, Mark (Keri) Lawson, Turney, MO; sister, Donna Dean, Stockton, MO; brother, Dan Lawson, Independence, MO;  six grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.
