Howard "Jim" Hartig, 80, passed away on June 23, 2021. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Barbara (nee Kiessling); son-in-law, Ed Manzke; grandson, Brett Manzke; and many other special family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Sophie; his two daughters, Laura Manzke and Mari-Anne Hartig; and his brothers Robert, Richard, Raymond, and William.
Jim was born in Chicago, Illinois in January of 1941. He earned a Masters degree in business, and enjoyed a successful career in trucking sales. Jim married the love of his life, Barbara, in February of 1973. Together they made a lifetime of memories through their love of family, friends, cooking, music, travel, and their pets. He was a fierce lover of telling a great joke, as well as appreciating hearing one! He will be missed by many.
An intimate memorial service will be held in the near future in the Chicago-land area.
