Howard Donald Stier, 92, passed away on January 14th, 2022 at his home in Lenexa, Kansas.
Howard was born to Donald and Genevieve (Hayes) Stier in La Grange, Illinois on May 31st, 1929.
Howard spent much of his formative years in Towson, Maryland before returning to Illinois where he graduated from La Grange High School and Bradley University (Peoria, IL).
Howard joined the military as a young man, serving in the Army during the Korean War.
He married Marion Wilson on October 5, 1968, and the couple started a family with the addition of two sons, Donald and Wesley. They lived in Overland Park, Merriam and Lenexa, Kansas.
Howard worked in sales for the Ladish Company (Cudahy, Wisconsin) for over 30 years. He was a lifelong fan of college and professional sports and always looked forward to his next fishing trip or tee time. Despite work obligations that required much time on the road, he was active in raising his boys and participated fully in their activities and lives. In retirement, he enjoyed the duties and benefits of serving as a course marshal at Tomahawk Golf Course.
Howard is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert H. Stier and sister-in-law, Lois (Lindahl) Stier.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marion; sons Don Stier and Wes Stier; and grandchildren Henry Stier and Warren Stier.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 20th, 2022 at 1 pm at the Amos Family Funeral Home in Shawnee, Kansas.
