Ilo Eileen Howard Lickteig passed away October 13, 2012, in Merriam, Kansas.

She was born on March 17, 1924, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She was married to Ralph Lickteig for almost 65 years, who died August 2012. Ilo was active in the American Legion Auxilliary Girls State and an avid square dancer. Ilo had a quick wit and loved to tease and laugh. She saw good in everyone and will be missed.

She was preceded in death by her twin sister Irene Howard LeMasters, sister JoAnn Howard and parents Basil and Nelle Howard. Ilo is survived by sisters, Gladys Howard of St. Joseph, Missouri, Betty Kramer of Shawnee, Kansas, Carol Willis of Kansas City, Missouri, Bess Michaelson (Ron) of Leawood, Kansas, Cathy Worley (Ken) of Kansas City, Missouri, and Patricia Melton of Overland Park, Kansas; and two brothers, John Howard (Mary) of Marysville, Kansas, and Robert Howard (Carlyn) of St. Joseph, Missouri. She will also be fondly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

The family also wishes to thank Trinity Nursing and Rehab of Merriam, Kansas, for nine years of wonderful care. Special thanks and appreciation to Evette, Liza, Rose, Valerie and Amy. You made her life so much easier.

Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at the Amos Family Funeral Home and Crematory. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial is private.
