Irene Eitel, 97, passed away September 28, 2019, at Advent Care Center in Merriam, Kansas.  She was born April 10, 1922 to Henry and Minnie (Deckert) Jantzen in Kismet, Kansas.  She married Jonas Eitel September 3, 1938 in Abilene.

Survivors include: sons, Gary (Juanita) Eitel of Hepler, Kansas, Vernon (Kathy) Eitel of Shawnee, Kansas, Milton (Gerry) Eitel of Assaria, Kansas; daughters, Sandra Kraig-Kraft of Fargo, North Dakota, Betty Minkler of Anthony, Florida; 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.  Predeceased by: husband, Jonas Eitel in 1996; brothers, Elmer, Dan and Roy Jantzen; sisters, Thelma Roberts, Edith McCarthy, Bertha Clark; grandchild, Gordon Biesterfeld.

Visitation and Funeral Service

Celebration of Life Service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 4, 2019, at Amos Family Funeral in Shawnee, Kansas, officiated by Pastor Mike Fenton.  Family will receive friends from noon until service time at the Funeral Home on Friday.  Interment 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 5, 2019, at Durham Park Cemetery, rural Durham, Kansas.
