Irene Hanna Hodges

Irene Hodges, 77, of Lenexa, Kansas, passed away peacefully February 26, 2012.

Irene was born November 27, 1934, in Williams, Oklahoma, to Arthur and Muriel (Floyd) Hanna. She graduated from Cameron High School. She received her Master's Degree in Education and taught for over 40 years at Washington Elementary in Olathe, Kansas. She was a devoted member of The First Baptist Church of Shawnee since 1956.

Irene is survived by her children, a son Terry Hodges, son Robin Hodges, son Tracy Hodges, daughter Penny Eaton and husband Mark, daughter Cherry Floyd and husband Steve; by grandchildren, Isaac, Allie, Noah, and Lilly Floyd, and Jackson Eaton. Irene is also survived by her siblings, Wilma Johnson, A.J. Hanna, James Hanna, Floyd Hanna, Jerry Hanna, Shirley Ramirez, and Dewayne Hanna.

A visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 3, 2012, the First Baptist Church of Shawnee; the funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. also at the church. Burial will immediately follow in Lenexa Cemetery, Lenexa, Kansas.
