Irene T. Roos

Irene T. Roos, 94, of Mission, Kansas passed away Saturday, August 10, 2013 after an extended illness.

Irene was born September 25, 1918 to the late Frank and Margaret Jardon in Baldwin City, Kansas. Irene graduated from Providence School of Nursing and worked many years at Providence Hospital, as well as with Dr. M. R. Fitzpatrick and Dr. Pritep Patel. After nursing school, Irene married Forest Joseph Roos on May 11, 1941 in Baldwin City, Kansas.

Forest preceded her in death February 6, 1970. She is also preceded in death by a son, Thomas Roos on March 7, 2013; three brothers, Francis Jardon, Robert Jardon and Bourke Jardon; and one sister, Sister Francis Marie, OSB.

Irene is survived by her son Frank Roos, of the home; five grandchildren, Danny Roos and wife Yulia, Joe Roos and wife Jill, Jason Roos, Clayton Roos, and Taylor Roos; four great grandchildren; three sisters, Catherine Roos, Marcella Roos and Jo Braun.

Visitation and Services

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 14 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 5500 Woodson, Mission, Kansas. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. when a rosary will be prayed. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Pius X Catholic Church.
