Jack Kynion

April 24, 1925 — November 15, 2010

Jack Kynion, 85, passed to glory November 15, 2010.

Jack was born April 24, 1925, to Sam and Mary Kynion the fourth in a line of five children. A Kansas man his entire life, Jack always had great affection for telling stories, giving speeches, and singing. In particular, his stories reflected a great affection for his mother. In 1950, he married the great love of his life, Marjorie Stemple. Through sixty years of marriage they shared countless adventures (their trip to Switzerland among them), raised two children, and were still holding hands in bed at Jack's passing. A family man his entire life, Jack had a rare character and an epic heart. A devoted husband, passionate father, loving grandfather, Jack exuded all of the characteristics of a redeemed Christian man.

Jack was a veteran of WWII. When he moved his young family back to Parsons, Kansas, in the early 1960s he began working for Fanestil Meat Company. He was a natural salesman with an easy, calming smile. Jack went on to become one of the most prolific salesman at Fanestil. His pitch: "I don't know the first thing about meat, Mr. Butcher, but I will give you the best service I possibly can."

Jack was a man of integrity with an eager and giving heart. His stoic but gentle disposition gave way to a genuine desire to help anyone that he could. He loved his family very much. He was a wise counselor. He was a good friend. He was a man after God's heart and he will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his beautiful wife of 60 years, Marjorie Kynion; Daughter Sherry Pluff (Joe); Son Jack Kynion II (Valerie); grandchildren: Matt, Jack III, Katie, Amelia, Benjamin, Abigail, Tracy, Joe, Jessica, and Kathy; and great grandchildren Joe, Jake, Caleb, Nick, Lindsay, Anthony, Chelsea, and Alison. "A special thanks to Amy Brady, Jack's adopted granddaughter."
