Jack Kynion II, 61, of Olathe, KS went home to Glory on September 11, 2016. He left an unmatched legacy behind.
Jack was born April 4, 1955 in Detroit, Michigan to Jack and Marjorie Kynion. He grew up in Parsons, Kansas and moved to the Kansas City area, where he and his family have resided for the past 40 years. He started and ran a successful business that became the firm Legacy Advisory Group. His work in financial services commanded tremendous respect from peers and clients alike.
Together with his lovely wife Valerie, Jack supported and raised a beautiful family of five children. He was a family man in the truest sense, and he loved his children more than himself. He cared for them, counseling, teaching, and providing for them emotionally, spiritually, and financially. He saw them each for who they were as individuals, called out their strengths, and respected and loved them. He was their rock, and he taught them well.
He loved his wife deeply. One of his greatest joys in life was the privilege of loving and taking care of her. He never fully understood why she chose him, showing another example of his humility and selflessness.
Jack loved deeply and fully. He was extraordinarily generous with his money, his time, his words, and his love to everyone. He always, always had time for people.
Always a rebel, he would say "God Bless you" instead of "goodbye." He loved Maranatha Christian Academy, where his children all went to school, and he and Valerie have invested so much there, as well as at their church, Hope Alive. He took great joy in coaching football at Maranatha, spending time on the golf course, and attending his children's plays and games.
When Jack came to know Jesus, his life changed dramatically. All who knew him know that Jack was a man of strong and deep faith, letting the Holy Spirit lead his decisions, be they business or personal. He trusted that the Lord would provide, and his life shows over and over again that the Lord truly is our provider. He believed his business was about provision, not only for his own family, but for other families too; his advising firm was his ministry.
In both his life and his death, his trust and faith in the Lord's steadfast love and abundance are an inspiration to his family, friends, associates, clients, and acquaintances. Above all, he sought to sow good seed and glorify the Lord. He once said, "as I grow older, I understand this life isn't about making me anything. It is about me making Jesus Lord more and more each day." More than any other thing, his life was about Jesus, his Lord and his Savior.
In death, he is joyously reunited with his parents Jack & Marjorie Kynion and his sister Sherry Pluff. He is survived by his beautiful wife of 31 years, Valerie Kynion and their children, all of whom adore him: Jack Kynion III (and fiancé Kara); Katelyn and Trevor Ramos; Amelia; Benjamin; and Abigail.
