Jack Arthur Mock, 79, of Lenexa, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.
Jack was born on August 1, 1939, in Kansas City, Kansas. He served in the US Navy as a Radioman Third Class aboard the submarine USS Redfish. Following his military service, he worked 39 years for the Kansas City Southern Railway Co.
Although Jack was an avid golfer and basketball player in his school days, his true passion was spending time with his family. Of all the roles he played in his life, none were more important to him than that of husband, father, grandpa and Poppy to his great-grandchildren.
Jack is survived by his loving wife Virginia (Ginger), whom he married on September 19, 1975; children: Kevin Mock and his wife Lynn, Kelly Mock-Bokay, Michael Weibel and his wife Kimberly, and Jennifer Weibel-Lott and her husband Cornelius. Grandchildren: Brennan Mock, Steffan Mock, Keenan Leaming and his wife Abbey, Dalton Mock, Roland Mock, Amber Weibel, Andy Weibel and his wife Mari, and Aubrey Bokay. Great-grandchildren: Raary Mock, Raylee Weibel, Sienna Weibel, and Attycus Leaming. Brothers: Dick Mock and his wife Janice, Gary and his wife Judy, and Dan and his wife Christine. Sisters: Mae Moore and her husband Jack, Carol Hamilton and her husband Jerry, Kathy Bunch and her husband Ted, and Debbie Wilcox and her husband Mark.
Jack had a tremendous heart and the kindness he showed to everyone was truly boundless. For those of us fortunate to have had him in our lives, we are blessed.
Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, June 10, 2019, at Amos Family Funeral Home. Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 11, 2019, at Amos Family Funeral Home. Graveside service to follow at 12:30 p.m. at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
