Jack Darryl Walton

Jack D. Walton, 78, of Shawnee, Kansas, beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather, passed into our Lord's loving care, Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at 8:05 p.m.

Jack was born April 27, 1934, in South Bend, Indiana, to Merrill F. Walton and Mildred V. (Fredrickson) Walton. On June 12, 1955, he married Joan K. Fougerousse. Jack worked for Wheel Horse Lawn and Garden Company and was the Regional Sales Manager before retiring after 42 years. After retiring, Jack went to work as a Realtor for J.C. Nichols. He was a member of the Shawnee United Methodist Church and was active with the United Methodist Men as well as the Keystone Class for over 40 years.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Richard Walton and a sister, Marilyn M. Bowland. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Joan; a son Jeffery R. Walton and girlfriend, Mary Anne Massing; a daughter, Jill Saucerman and husband James; four grandchildren, Cari S. and Katie B. Saucerman, Erin M. and Jack Spencer Walton; and one great grandchild Josie Saucerman, all of Shawnee. He also leaves many friends and loved ones to remember his shining example of how to live.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 8, 2013, at the Amos Family Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens.
