Jacob F. Stephens, Sr.

Jacob F. Stephens, Sr., 83, of Shawnee, Kansas, died April 30, 2012, at Evergreen Community of Johnson County. Jacob was born July 31, 1928, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Frederick Stephens and Mary Reynolds.

Jacob is survived by daughters Patricia Ford and JoAnn Ventura; son, John VanDorn; brothers, Roy Stephens, Lawrence Stephens and Raymond Stephens; sister, Ruth Ross; 3 grandchildren, Anthony, Holley and Sabrina; 5 great grandchildren; and his extended family at Evergreen Community of Johnson County.

Jacob was preceded in death by his sons, Jacob Stephens, Jr. (Diane) and Kenneth Sullins; brothers, William Stephens, Joseph Stephens and John Stephens; and sisters, Anabell Stitch and Janet Ogden.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 3, 2012, at the Amos Family Funeral Home & Crematory. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 4, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Shawnee, Kansas. Burial to follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Kansas City, Kansas.
