Jacqueline Marie Franchett

Jacqueline Marie (Flack) Franchett, 79, of Kansas City, KS, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2017.

Jackie was born August 28, 1937 in Kansas City, KS to Virgil and Mercedes (Lucas) Flack. She graduated from Loretto Academy in 1958. She married and raised her family in Shawnee. Later in life, she graduated from KU with a BA and Masters in Social Services. She was a social worker at Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center and the KU Dialysis Center before retiring in 2006.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Mercedes Flack, son, Greg Franchett, a brother, Jim Flack, and an infant sister, Mary Lou Flack.

She is survived by her son, Tim (Jill) of Overland Park, KS, Daughter, Jennifer (Brandon) Freeman of Seale, Alabama; sisters, Judy Cavanaugh of Independence, MO, Virginia (Jerry) Crum of Shawnee, KS; grandchildren, Katie, Greg, Amanda and Zach Franchett, Ryan (Katelynn) Franchett, Mike (Ashley) Franchett, Alyssa (Micah) Green, Tyler, Lucas, and Levi Freeman; great-grandchildren, Liberty and Matthew Lugo, Brandon Hooper, Beckham Franchett, Emma Franchett, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she loved dearly.

The Franchett family wishes to thank the staff at Villa St. Francis, Olathe, KS, and Catholic Community Hospice, Overland Park, KS, for their compassionate care and support.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 4th at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m., prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association
