James W. Brauer, 61, of Shawnee, passed away Friday, April 17, 2015 at his home.

Jim was born November 25, 1953 to the late William Walter and Margaret Ann (Price) Brauer in Oak Park-River Forest, Illinois. After graduating from Shawnee Mission North, Jim attended Pittsburg State University and earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. While at Pitt State, Jim was an active member of Lambda Chi fraternity. After graduation, Jim married Pamela Handshy on August 20, 1988. He will be remembered by all who knew him for his kindness, generosity and great sense of humor.

He is preceded in death by his loving pet, Gretchen. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Pamela; two daughters, Mary Margaret Brauer and Anne Catherine Brauer; a sister, Barbara Orosz and her children Ryan and Kelly; his mother in law Mary Handshy; and loyal companion, Jojo.

Celebration of Life Services

A Celebration of Jim's life will be 1 p.m. Saturday, April 25 at the Amos Family Funeral Home in Shawnee.
