James R. Breitenstein, 79, of Paola, KS, formerly of Blue Springs, Mo, passed away on July 27, 2017.

He was born November 26, 1937 in Antigo, WI, to Edward and Elinor.  James was married to the love of his life, Ruby Willa Mae "Billie" Braden/Pretz on May 31, 1963.

James "Jim" is survived by a Step-daughter, Judith Marler and Step-son, Jerry Pretz (Mary); six grandchildren, Brian Marler (Linda), Bob Pretz (Penny), Staci Gulick (Aaron), Liz Bushamn (Jon), Misty Stouder (Rick), Travis Pretz (Sarah), 15 great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren,  Four niece's,  Mary Kay, Dawn, Bonnie, Dixie, Susan and a nephew, Mike; ten great nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, sisters, Joanne, Kathy, twin great grandsons, a nephew, and a great niece.

Visitation and Services

Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Friday August 4, 2017 at the Amos Family Funeral Home.  Services will follow at 11 a.m.  Jim will be laid to rest with military honors in Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens.
