James “Jim” Carroll

Jim Carroll, 76, of Overland Park, KS, passed away on July 10th, 2017.  He was born on September 19th, 1940 to John (Jack) and Bernadette Carroll in Des Moines, Iowa.  Jim married the love of his life, Renee, on August 11th, 1962.  He worked for A.J. Goss Distributor Inc. where he met many of his lifelong friends.  Jim spent nearly every weekend at Lake of the Ozarks boating with his wife, children and friends.  He loved the lake so much that when he retired, he and Renee relocated to the lake and enjoyed living there for many years.  Jim also enjoyed traveling, especially to New Zealand, Australia and Grand Cayman.  Jim was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  He is survived by his wife, Renee Carroll; daughters Kelly Jacobs; Sherri (Tim) Plemmons; son Kenny Carroll; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one sister.  He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dan Carroll; and a very special great-granddaughter, Presley Porting.  Jim was truly a wonderful man, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend.  He will be missed by many people.

A visitation will be held on Monday, July 17th from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Amos Family Funeral Home, 10901 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, KS, 66203.  A service will immediately follow at 6:00 PM.
