James L. Casperson, Sr., 69, Kansas City, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2012, in Kansas City, Kansas.
Jim was born June 23, 1942, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Wallace and Norma Casperson. He moved to the Kansas City area in 1964. Jim was a dump truck driver for Rieke's Construction for 18 years and later was employed with Johnson County until his retirement. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Suzy Casperson, son, James Casperson, II, and sister, Phyllis Casperson. Survivors include his three daughters, Michelle Coen and husband, Jack, Overland Park, Kansas, Jennifer Smith and husband, Brad, Gardner, Kansas and Julie Dearth and husband, Casey, Basehor, Kansas; sister, Lynne Schoenborn and husband, Art; two brothers, Philip Casperson and wife, Mary and Charles Casperson and wife, Michele, all of Minnesota; eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Services
Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, March 16, 2012, followed by a Rosary and Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. at the Amos Family Funeral Home and Crematory.
