James J. Earp

James Judson Earp, age 81, of Roswell, New Mexico, passed away on January 9, 2009.

Jim "Honest Jim" was born February 2, 1927 in Joplin, Missouri to Eldo and Vada Earp, they both have preceded him in death. Jim married Marilyn June Earp on August 2, 1959 in Shawnee Mission, Kansas. Jim grew up in Kansas City, Missouri. He graduated from Missouri Valley College in Marshall, Missouri. Jim was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army and a Korean War Veteran. Jim was the co-founder of Earp Distribution Company of Kansas City where he retired in 1996.

Jim was loved by all that knew him and will be missed by all. He is survived by his best friend and love of his life, his wife, Marilyn June Earp, his daughter, Patricia Bruce and son, Michael Watkins both of Overland Park, Kansas, daughter and son-in-law Denise and John Holm of Bucyrus, Kansas. He leaves his granddaughter, Danielle Rider of Ft. Riley, Kansas and grandson David Duncan of Lawrence, Kansas. He is also survived by his sister Betty Hewlett of Kansas City and Many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service

A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at 2 PM at the Nall Avenue Baptist Church, 5401 W. 67th Street, Prairie Village 66208.
