James B. “Jim” Elliot

James B. Elliot, 69, of Overland Park, KS, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Shawnee Mission Medical Center surrounded by his family.

Jim was born December 4, 1944, in Kansas City, MO, to Charles and Helen (Madison) Elliot. He graduated from Bishop Miege High School. Jim retired from Procter and Gamble in February 2000 with over 27 years of service. During that time, he was a Mechanic/Machinist and Safety Coordinator, among other roles. He was a Ham Radio Operator and member of the Jo Co Amateur Radio Emergency Service.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Mary L. Elliot; children, Tammy (Elliot) Crutchfield (Mark), Tim Elliot, Jason Elliot (Jamie), and Christina Elliot; grandchildren, Marlana Elliot, Luke Crutchfield, Marissa Elliot, and Jaxon Elliot; a brother, Charles Elliot and sisters, Joann Feehan and Jan Meyers.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Thursday at Amos Family Funeral Home with burial in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 - 8 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.

The family suggests contributions to American Heart Association.
